The Hotel @ Tharaba Gate

One of the best hotels in Bagan, low rise bungalows built in typical Bagan ‘brick style’ and thatched roofs surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The hotel position is also very convenient for sightseeing, as it is within walking distance of Ananda Temple, one of Bagan's most import sights.

Location : In old Bagan near Tharabar Gate, 10 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is just 15 minutes drive from the Nyaung Oo airport and most major sightseeing places that Bagan is known for.

Rooms : 56 superior (37 sqm) and 26 deluxe rooms (37 sqm) as well as 4 suites (74 sqm) are located in low rise buildings with large windows. Each is tastefully decorated with teak wood furniture and fittings and traditional Burmese arts and crafts. Individually controlled air-conditioning, satellite-TV, IDD telephone, refrigerator, safety box as well as tea and coffee making facilities promise a high standard of comfort. The main difference between superior and deluxe lies in the fact that the superior room terrace overlooks the public garden, whereas the deluxe room overlooks a private garden. Deluxe rooms also have hairdryer (in superior rooms this can be requested at reception), that superior don’t have. Suite rooms are of course much bigger, with extra living room and a terrace overlooking private garden.
